This is what Weaving Silver Linings looks like!
Going through the photos from Harmonic Harvest’s A Night to Shine Gala and One-Year Celebration is making my heart feel full – it was truly one of the best days of my life!
Seeing the moments captured—groups of people deep in conversation, connecting, and celebrating together—has truly warmed my heart. Thank you @hylermedia for capturing the magic of the night, helping us to remember this moment forever!
This event wasn’t just about marking a milestone; it was about bringing together everyone who has been part of Harmonic Harvest’s journey in one way or another. From friends and family traveling from Brandon, Rosendale, Eldorado, Fond du Lac, and Oshkosh to those flying in from LA, New York, Denver, Minneapolis, and Chicago, to the incredible people I’ve met here in Milwaukee—it was so special to share this moment with all of you.
Riley’s Social House will always hold a special place in my heart. While renovating my condo and building Harmonic Harvest, it became my go-to neighborhood spot—where I could work, bring my dog Moshi along, and feel right at home.
Riley’s, along with the Journeyman Hotel @journeymanhotel, gave me the space I needed during that time. To see them come together to help me celebrate Harmonic Harvest’s one-year anniversary felt like such a full-circle moment.

From their warm presence to the incredible brussel sprout salad, the best sandwiches in Milwaukee, and the most delicious cookies, they truly outdid themselves. A huge thank you to Riley’s amazing pack for showing up and making the day even more special.
Riley’s isn’t just my favorite neighborhood bar—it’s a place that represents community, connection, and support, which is everything Harmonic Harvest is about and is how Riley’s became a Season One Luminous Loom Grant Recipient. Thank you, @rileysocialhouse for being part of this journey!
We also want to highlight and give thanks to our neighbors at Sweetly Baked (@sweetlybakedmke) for making the delicious macarons for HH’s A Night to Shine Gala!

When Harmonic Harvest moved into our HQ, we quickly discovered the magic next door—and let’s just say, we’ve been regulars ever since.
From coffee and desserts during workdays to a glass of wine after late-night renovations, Sweetly Baked has been more than a bakery; they’ve been a source of kindness and support. Therefore, it only felt right to have them be part of such a special moment for us. Thank you for adding a little extra sweetness to our celebration!

As guests began to arrive and enjoy the space, delicious bites and refreshing drinks, it was soon time to begin the program for the evening which kicked off with my speech. I want to send a heartfelt thank you to Neil @neilwillenson for the incredible introduction at HH’s gala. He is truly one of the best public speakers I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing—capturing the essence of Harmonic Harvest with such grace and precision.
Neil, as the CEO of BBBS and one of our Luminous Loom grant recipients, has not only been a partner in our mission but also a mentor to me on this journey. His wealth of experience, genuine willingness to help others, and steadfast support have been invaluable.
I am beyond grateful to know someone who exemplifies leadership and community dedication so effortlessly. Thank you, Neil, for your words and for being part of this special moment!

I wanted to be intentional with my words and am proud of the outcome! Please enjoy a snippet of my speech below:
“Every connection you make is a thread in the fabric of your future.
Take a moment to look around this room. Every person here is a thread in Harmonic Harvest’s story. Together, we’ve woven something truly extraordinary—a tapestry that represents the power of connection, collaboration, and shared purpose. The ripple effects of the relationships built here have created waves far beyond what we could have imagined.
At our core, we are social creatures. Whether we like it or not, we need each other. And while we all have different worldviews, coming together in social gatherings strengthens the bonds and bridges between us. These gatherings restore our humanity, reminding us that there’s so much more that connects us than divides us.
When I first started Harmonic Harvest, I loved the concept of getting to the root of a problem. Like a dandelion, you can mow over it repeatedly, but it will keep coming back unless you pull it out by the roots. But here’s the thing—those roots are medicine. Addressing the root of our problems, especially as a community, brings us closer to our ultimate truths. It’s in facing these challenges together that we find healing, understanding, and hope.
I am tired, but I am more awake than I have ever been. Awake to my purpose. Awake to the possibilities. And awake to the fact that no negative experience is truly negative. Like the yin and yang, life isn’t black and white. It’s about walking the silver line in between, drawing from both light and dark, and using those experiences to grow and create something beautiful.”
(Fun fact: the first line of my speech came from a fortune cookie I received, and it couldn’t have been more fitting for the moment.)
Thank you to everyone who took the time to listen and special thank you to @milwaukeeairwaves for ensuring everyone could hear this speech between two rooms!. I have never poured so much intention into a speech before, and it was important to me that this was the best speech I’ve ever given. I think mission accomplished!
Nemo (@nemogreater) received Harmonic Harvest’s second Silver Lining Award, and there’s no one more deserving. He truly embodies what it means to be a silver lining—not just for the community, but also for Harmonic Harvest.

Through his message of love and togetherness, Nemo inspires connection and collaboration in everything he does. His innovative approach to collaborative artwork engages people around themes of sustainability, hope, and a brighter future. Beyond his art, Nemo creates access to resources and builds bridges for those striving to make a difference.
We are so grateful to honor Nemo and celebrate the incredible impact he continues to have. Thank you for being a guiding light and reminding us of the power of unity.

Harmonic Harvest’s jazz journey began when I discovered the 1919 classic ”Look for the Silver Lining” and fell in love with Etta Jones’ timeless version. This song became the inspiration behind the mission and theme, and at the heart of our storytelling.
To bring this vision to life, I connected with the Milwaukee Jazz Institute (@milwaukeejazzinstitute), who performed at our very first Collaborative Conversation—and even became a Season One Luminous Loom grant recipient.
During those early conversations, the Institute shared they could re-record the song for us, and that’s where the incredible Marcya Danielle (@marcyadaneillevocals) came in. Her voice transformed our theme song into something truly unforgettable.
On 414 Day, we brought this magic to the Hoan Bridge, lighting it up and syncing its movements to our version of “Look for the Silver Lining.” Listeners tuned into Radio Milwaukee (@radiomilwaukee) as the bridge danced in harmony with the music.

For our A Night to Shine Gala and one-year celebration, we took it to the next level with a live performance by Underground Sound and Marcya Danielle. As they performed, the Hoan Bridge (@lightthehoan) once again danced, creating a breathtaking moment that captured the spirit of Harmonic Harvest.
Thank you, Marcya Danielle and Underground Sound (@us_jazz) for filling the night with soul, rhythm, and a celebration of connection!
After our live band played Look for the Silver Linings while the Hoan Bridge danced in celebration, we unveiled something truly profound: The Heartbeat of Our Tapestry.

This tapestry is made of 111 stories and pieces of fabric, each sewn onto a silver backing and woven together into a multidimensional masterpiece.
I wanted this tapestry to represent the fabric of life—dual-sided, with clean, intricate finishes alongside raw, uncut edges. Life is complex, layered, and sometimes messy, but when we step back, we see how beautifully cohesive and interconnected it truly is.
This is more than just art—it’s a symbol of resilience, connection, and the power of our collective stories. Together, these threads create something far greater than the sum of their parts.

The Heartbeat of Our Tapestry will continue to grow, with more stories and threads being added to this ongoing narrative of hope and silver linings.
Thank you to @alyssascuration of @matteblack.shop for putting this Tapestry together with your incredible craftsmanship, @milwaukeeairwaves for helping us hang the tapestry and @millerlite for sponsoring the Shine-A-Lite program with @lightthehoan, allowing us to light the bridge for this moment.

Seeing my vision come to fruition with the unveiling of The Heartbeat of Our Tapestry is an experience I will never forget. This tapestry isn’t just fabric—it’s a living representation of the connections, stories, and collective hope that have brought us here.
Every story woven into this piece is a testament to the power of community and resilience.
But this is just the beginning. My dream is to create a global tapestry of silver linings—to continue weaving connections, uplifting lives, and empowering communities. Together, we can create something far greater than ourselves!
A sincere thank you to everyone who donated, bid on, and purchased items in our silent auction at A Night to Shine!

Your generosity and support helped us raise funds to continue Harmonic Harvest’s mission of strengthening community connection and creating spaces for healing, celebration, and collaboration.
To our donors—your thoughtfulness and creativity made this auction truly special. To our bidders—thank you for helping turn these donations into impactful action.
To everyone who wasn’t able to attend but has taken the time to spread the word, donate, volunteer, show up, and simply support us in HH’s journey thus far: THANK YOU! I cannot do this alone and appreciate each and every person who has helped make an impact along the way!
Stay tuned for our documentary, Weaving Silver Linings, to see more special moments from this nightand our journey!
