Harmonic Highlights – May 2025“Flower Moon” |
|
“May’s Flower Moon name should be no surprise; flowers spring forth across North America in abundance this month! The name has been attributed to Algonquin peoples, as confirmed by Christina Ruddy of The Algonquin Way Cultural Centre in Pikwakanagan, Ontario. May’s Moon was also called the “Month of Flowers” by Jonathan Carver in his 1798 publication, Travels Through the Interior Parts of North America, as a likely Dakota name. Henry David Thoreau sparked the Native American Moon names as well, referencing the Flower Moon and Carver when he wrote about Native Americans.”– Read more: Almanac.com |

HH x Mount Mary C.R.E.O. 2025 Student Fashion Show |
| We had the pleasure of attending the 2025 CREO Mount Mary student fashion show, thanks to our friend Stephanie Brown of TMJ4, who did an amazing job as the MC of the evening!
If you’re not already familiar, each spring Mount Mary’s fashion department “produces a highly-anticipated, student-run fashion show celebrating the collaborative creative efforts of both design and business majors.”
The show was nothing short of amazing! We were so impressed by the talent of not only the student designers, but also to the models, production team, hair and makeup, and the staff and faculty that all had a hand in making this event such a success! |

This doesn’t come as a surprise after we learned that the 4-year Fashion Design and Merchandising program at Mount Mary is the FIRST of its kind in the nation! The program was founded by Sister Aloyse Hessburg of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1965, who also founded the student fashion show as well as built the historic costume collection housed at the university. The spirit and essence of Sister Aloyse work continues to shine through the talented students, which was on full display at the show. |

We are so excited to continue fostering this connection with Mount Mary’s fashion department, as valuing and uplifting craftsmanship and artistry is at the foundation of what we do.

HH HQ Hosts the Downtown Neighbors Association’s April Member Meeting |

A first of many meaningful gatherings at Harmonic Harvest’s HQ! |
| | We were honored to host the Downtown Neighbors Association of Milwaukee’s April member meeting and panel discussion—our very first non-HH event in the space! Thank you, @mkedowntown, for the opportunity to hold space for conversation, curiosity, and community. The panel, “What’s Next for Commercial Real Estate in Downtown Milwaukee?”, sparked thoughtful dialogue on the future of our city—what’s being built, what’s possible, and how we grow together.
This is just the beginning of the conversations we hope to cultivate in our space and we are excited to continue to explore more ways we can host and connect with the community.

| RTW: ArtsECO x Obama SCTE High School |
| Thank you to Kelly and the rest of the team at ArtsECO for allowing us the opportunity to host their students from Obama SCTE in our workshop space!
As a stop on their way to see a matinee at the Milwaukee Chamber Theater, the group visited the HQ where they enjoyed a light breakfast and participated in the Renaissance Threads Workshop. |

It was so fun to see the students engage in the activities in such a meaningful and heartfelt way. We cannot wait for the opportunity to host more field trips and other groups such as these in our space. |

Tapestry Roots: The Lived Experience Academy Summit |
|
Last weekend, Christina and Jenna traveled to Wausau, Wisconsin for the Lived Experience Academy Summit with the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families.
Lived experience experts are individuals who have walked through systems—foster care, justice, housing, mental health, recovery—and now use those experiences to create change.
Their insight bridges the gap between policy and humanity. Their stories are solutions. Their presence is power. |

We officially launched our Heart Strings: Thread Doesn’t Start With You creative workshop on Day 1, under of our new Tapestry Roots program. On Day 2, we led Renaissance Threads: A Tapestry of Silver Linings.
Both gatherings were filled with emotion, connection, and purpose. We are grateful to have been part of it and are excited to share more about the stories and threads that were woven across both days. |

At HH, together, we are weaving a tapestry of silver linings! Join us in sowing the seeds of positive change, one social gathering at a time. |
