Harmonic Highlights – July 2024July 21, 2024 – “Buck Moon” |
|
“The full Moon in July is called the Buck Moon because the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full-growth mode at this time. Bucks shed and regrow their antlers each year, producing a larger and more impressive set as the years go by.” – Almanac.com |

| It’s been a busy 8 months for HH! During that time, we launched on Giving Tuesday 2023, gave away $200,000 to local orgs through our Luminous Loom Grant, hosted our first Renaissance Threads Workshop on 414 Day, lit up the Hoan Bridge, and most recently, secured a location for the new HH HQ and Harmonic Haven Marketplace!
Above all else, we are always working on strengthening the foundation of HH by focusing on grounding our programs and services, and gathering data from our first 6 months of operation. |

We are so proud of the work we’ve done thus far and cannot wait to share more of this information with our supporters later this year in our Annual Report and at our Gala! |

|
As we continue to build relationships within the community, we are very excited to collectively transform our space! The HH HQ is not only an office for our team, it’s also a place for our workshops, programs, and services.
It is a place for community, creativity, and storytelling – a place for weaving silver linings. |
|
| Over the weekend we hosted “paint parties” where we invited volunteers to come out and help us clean, prep, and paint.
Partly inspired by our trip with Fendi in Rome (which we will share more in part two of our Europe Recap), we had a vision and intention for the HQ to truly feel like a safe “haven” and one of the main elements we wanted to incorporate was the cloud effect on the ceilings. Continuing with the theme of our first team photos, we thought this would be a fun way to make a nod to our shoot while also adding to the ethereal, oasis vibe. |

Our friends at Sherwin-Williams and Hallman Lindsay were a tremendous help in getting us started on the right track with our painting project.
Sherwin-Williams assisted us with designing the “sky” and selecting the perfect colors and finishes, while Hallman Lindsay helped us with the metallic paint for the “silver linings” and other details throughout the piece.
Chimenti Studios also donated plaster for the ceiling and helped teach us our cloud sculpting techniques. We are so excited to reveal the finished product! |

Huge thank you to the volunteers who have already come out and will be coming within the next few weeks to help us with this transition – it truly takes a village and we couldn’t do any of this without YOU! |

There are several other local businesses, artists, organizations and individuals who have also contributed to the building of the new HH HQ and store that we have to acknowledge and thank – check out our blog to read more! |

| HH HQ is home to our Harmonic Haven marketplace, which will help us be self-sustaining as a nonprofit. Specifically, we are most excited about being able to pour into our Luminous Loom grant with the revenue gained from our store!
The marketplace will be open to the public soon, in the meantime shop our merch online now! |

Want to support? We are currently accepting donations of art supplies, fabric/mixed materials, wicker baskets and mason jars for our Renaissance Threads Workshops.
We are also in search of vendors for our marketplace as well as a local business who would be interested in providing plants and greenery for the space! |
