HH x Fostering Community: Renaissance Threads Workshop

This past Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting a Renaissance Threads Workshop at Fostering Community’s back to school bash and supply drive! The event took place on a beautiful, sunny afternoon at Epikos Church in Wauwatosa.

Throughout the day, we had several groups of kids of all ages who stopped by our table to share and create their “silver lining story” artwork. The workshop seemed to especially be a hit among the middle-school aged children, who often feel left out of youth events that typically focus on younger or older kids.

As always, we were amazed and impressed by the stories shared and the art created – thank you again to Natalie and the Fostering Community team for having us!

New Crowdfunding Campaign: Sherman Park – A Horror Film

Milwaukee-based actor and filmmaker Paulina Lule Bugembe-Kuwahara has returned home to embark on their latest project – Sherman Park, a zombie-horror film based in the historic neighborhood in Milwaukee’s near-westside.

The basis of the film, inspired by Paulina’s personal experience with family in the criminal justice system, centers around the “metaphor of White Supremacy as a virus spreading through violence”, told through the lens of classic zombie-lore cinema.

They are currently just over a week into their newly launched crowdfunding campaign and need our help! Visit their IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign site to learn more about the project, the team and ways to support!
